Configured to your operation
Your stop types, cost model, quality gates and roster rules — expressed as your business, not boxed into someone else’s template.
Helix — workforce management, powered by Spiral
Helix turns Spiral’s real-time optimisation into a complete workforce management system — built around your data, your rules and your applications. From the first customer call to the engineer on site, everyone works from one live, optimised plan.
What Helix adds
Your stop types, cost model, quality gates and roster rules — expressed as your business, not boxed into someone else’s template.
Contact centre, deployment centre and a field app share a single live picture — no re-keying, no nightly sync.
External systems integrate through a simple open JSON REST API. No rip-and-replace.
Every change is attributable, retained and reversible — full governance over a live, optimised operation.
Managed extensibility
Your operation is modelled in three layers — from the core Spiral domain, out through configurable extensions, to your other systems. Each is version-controlled and upgrades with the core, so you are never stranded on a branch.
The core Spiral domain — your business rules, cost model and roster (duty) patterns. The optimisation behaves as your operation does, defined as data, not code.
Helix's configuration layer adds to the model — extra data fields, quality gates at each stage, and event-based actions. Still configured, still upgrade-safe.
Connect the outside world through an open API — other systems and new channels (telephony, CRM, assets, web, mobile) exchanging data with the live operation.
The scope of Helix
From the first customer contact to the engineer on site — and the analysis that improves tomorrow — every function runs off one live, optimised model.
Capture and manage customer demand, bookings and immediate work as it arrives.
Live map, plans and the next best action across the whole resource pool.
The field app — next job, projected times, skills and status, reported live.
Duty patterns, availability and pay that shape the schedule and its cost.
Contracts, customers, assets, archiving, audit and governance.
Simulate, replay and tune — measure the impact before it goes live.
One model, shared live across every function — no re-keying, no nightly sync.
Fits your landscape
Helix exchanges plain JSON over a simple, open REST API. Your telephony, CRM, asset and HR systems integrate by sending and receiving records — Helix maps them to the scheduling model and forwards only what Spiral needs. Adopt it alongside what you already run, and replace at your own pace.
Integration hooks
Incident feeds flow in and status flows back — records map into the live plan, with escalation and lifecycle actions wired to your process.
Contact-centre and customer channels plug in — Helix resolves contracts and records across your CRM and telephony through a pluggable search, so the front line works from one live view.
Externally owned resources join the pool — partner and third-party fleets sync through create, update and remove hooks, planned alongside your own.
Roster model
Model real shift patterns with duty types — rest, standby and work — each with its own pay rules, voluntary and overtime treatment, mandatory limits and sign-on / sign-off. The roster drives both availability and cost, so the optimised schedule reflects your true workforce, not an idealised one.
Audit & governance
Any attribute can be marked for audit and credited to the user who changed it or to Spiral itself. Optimistic locking prevents conflicting edits, archiving and retention keep history under control, and a key service issues unique ids — governance built into a live, optimised operation.
Continuous improvement
Helix runs as a simulation as readily as it runs live. Capture scenarios, replay them against a tuned model, and measure the difference before anything reaches your operation.
See it live
Each sandbox is a private, preconfigured Helix operation with realistic data and live scenarios — the same three applications, shaped to a different industry.
Roadside assistance and recovery — immediate response balanced with booked garage work.
